Building a Place Where Financial Questions Feel Welcome
Duang Chai began from a straightforward conviction: that adults approaching their later working years deserve access to honest, well-structured financial educationâwithout jargon, pressure, or unrealistic claims.
â Back to HomeFounded on a Belief That Learning Changes Perspective
Duang Chai was founded in Bangkok after several years of conversations with adults who felt they had arrived at a significant crossroadsâenough years behind them to have accumulated something meaningful, but uncertain about what came next. They were not looking for someone to manage their money. They were looking for understanding.
We created a learning environment that honours that experience. Our name, Duang Chai, reflects a spirit of purposeful heartâdoing things with care and intention. It shapes everything about how we work, from the way we structure our programs to how we respond to enquiries.
Located in Thonglor, one of Bangkok's most accessible neighbourhoods, our centre welcomes participants from across the city and from expatriate communities who call Thailand home. We conduct all courses in English and work to ensure the content is relevant to the Thai financial context.
Our Mission
To offer adults aged 40 and older in Thailand a calm, well-structured space to improve their financial literacyâso they can make personal decisions with greater confidence and clarity.
Our Vision
A Bangkok where adults approaching retirement are equipped with the knowledge they need to live the next chapter on their own termsânot shaped by anxiety, but by thoughtful preparation.
Our Values
Respect for every person's unique situation. Honesty in what we teach and what we do not claim to know. Patience in how we deliver information. Warmth in every interaction.

How We Ensure Quality in Every Program
Factual Accuracy
All course content is reviewed regularly against current Thai financial regulations, Bank of Thailand guidelines, and relevant tax considerations to ensure what we teach remains accurate and applicable.
Qualified Educators
Each member of our teaching team holds relevant professional qualifications or substantial industry experience in their subject area, and participates in ongoing professional development.
Small Group Sizes
We deliberately limit session sizes so that each participant has space to ask questions, revisit points, and engage meaningfully with the materialânot sit in a lecture hall and hope for the best.
Privacy & Discretion
Personal financial circumstances shared during individual planning sessions are treated with complete confidentiality. We do not share participant information with any third parties.
Participant Feedback
Every course concludes with a detailed review process. Participant feedback shapes how we refine and develop our programsâwe take every response seriously and use it constructively.
Balanced Teaching
Our educators present multiple perspectives where choices exist, and are clear about the difference between general education and personalised financial advice. We help people think, not tell them what to decide.
Financial Education Grounded in Thai Context
Duang Chai operates within a specific and intentional niche. We focus exclusively on adults aged 40 and older living in or near Bangkok, and we bring our programs to bear on the realities of the Thai financial environmentânot abstract models imported from elsewhere. Understanding how gold savings accounts work at a local level, how Thai provident funds accumulate and can be drawn down, and how healthcare costs behave in this part of the world requires educators with genuine local knowledge. That is what we offer.
Our Expense Tracking Bootcamp addresses one of the most commonly overlooked foundations of sound personal finance: knowing where your money actually goes. Many adults who have spent decades earning find that their spending habits developed without much conscious design. A single well-structured day can shift that. Participants leave with practical tools, personalised category systems, and a monthly review habit they can sustain.
The Gold and Precious Metals Awareness program takes seriously the deep cultural relationship that Thai households have with physical gold. Rather than dismissing traditional approaches or uncritically endorsing them, we present a clear educational picture of how physical gold, gold savings accounts, and ETF alternatives compareâso participants can make their own judgements from a position of genuine understanding.
The Pre-Retirement Comprehensive Planning program is our most extensive offering. Over six sessions across one month, participants work through income projections, anticipated costs, lifestyle considerations, and asset management approaches relevant to their personal situation. Each participant receives a written plan summary to refer to after the course concludes. It is the kind of thinking-through that adults approaching retirement often wish they had done earlier.
